Going digital – we’re making it happen!
Dear customers, partners and interested parties,
Digitalisation is constantly changing our working world and brings numerous advantages – including in the area of invoicing. In the EU, and therefore also in Germany, electronic invoices will become mandatory in the B2B sector in the future. The first step was to make the receipt of e-invoices mandatory in Germany from January 2025.
From 1 January 2027, the creation of outgoing invoices in electronic format will also be mandatory. Various transition periods are planned for the creation of e-invoices (Section 27 (39) UStG-E): Paper and PDF invoices will still be permitted until the end of December 2025. For companies with a turnover of less than EUR 800,000 in 2025, the deadline will be extended to the end of 2026. By 1 January 2027 at the latest, paper and PDF invoices in the B2B sector will be a thing of the past.
These regulations are part of efforts to make administration and the economy more efficient, transparent and sustainable.
At DIGITAL IMPACTS, we take this development very seriously and are committed to implementing the legal requirements smoothly and on time. Our goal is to continue to offer our customers and partners the best service without increasing the administrative burden.
What does the e-invoicing requirement mean for us?
The e-invoicing requirement means that in future we will create and send all invoices in a standardised, machine-readable format (XRechnung). This enables automated processing, reduces sources of error and speeds up the payment process. For us, this is an important step towards digitalisation and sustainability, as paperless processes conserve resources and reduce environmental impact.
How are we implementing the e-invoicing requirement?
In order to meet the legal requirements on time, we have already begun the transition. Our invoicing system is being adapted accordingly so that all invoices will be created in the required format in future. We are working closely with our IT partners to ensure a secure, reliable and data protection-compliant solution.
